Their teachers know that career coaching has always been an essential part of the education system. Fortunately there are many television shows on television which are focused on doctors and nurses. Some of these programs are very realistic and they give an accurate view about medicine and hospitals. An intelligent female teacher knew that her upper level pupils were smart enough to learn from one of these job projects which were readily available.
One sunny afternoon after class was completed she instructed all of her students to write down which job they would be interested in. Many of them wanted to gain a career within the athletic and entertainment world while others were more realistic and picked hospital jobs. Fortunately three students were sent to the main lobby of the hospital at the start of the work week. They were sure to learn all about oncology, cardiology and pediatrics.
All of these were great assignments which would lead to a good future job for everyone involved. Every staff member at this medical place tried to make the young people feel very welcome in every way possible. The young female who worked with oncology became very involved with her older female patients since they were very needy and wanted human company throughout the day. She took the time to comb the women's hair and to recite poetry to them before bedtime.
When one of them passed away she became very upset and could not properly perform her duties for the rest of the day. A fellow worker gave her great information about terminally ill patients and how to let go of them once they have left this world. Eventually she became stronger and was able to complete the course without any further tragedies or interruptions.
The male student who worked with the pediatrics group truly loved his job since he was able to care for a variety of babies and toddlers who came in for treatment. He had always liked children and felt that these little individuals had a very special place within this world. Fortunately this lad had the patience and skills to do a great job on this ward.
Last but not least another girl pupil decided to take her chance with the very popular cardiology team who worked within the hospital. She had learned so much information from these dedicated doctors and could easily see herself performing heart surgeries. This young woman truly hoped that her new knowledge would eventually save her mother and father from having future heart attacks.
During the last week of school every student was asked to write a report about their job adventure. They were indeed pleased to complete this task since it gave them the chance to share their unique experience. Other instructors decided to utilize this particular shadowing program and it still remains popular all over the world.
